A brief history of
Bill C-51
Bill C-51 became Canadian law in May 2015. Former Prime Minister Harper claimed the Bill would keep Canadians safe from acts of terror. But in reality, it denies rights to privacy, speech, and protest – freedoms that are central to Canadian life.
When the law was first announced, thousands of Canadians took to the streets to speak out. They were summarily ignored. We can't allow that to happen again.
During the 2015 federal election, Justin Trudeau's Liberals pledged to "repeal the problematic elements of Bill C-51". This isn't good enough. Join us to let him know that Bill C-51 must be repealed.
